Compassionate therapy for kids, teens, and young adults

Young people navigate complex emotions, stressors, and challenges. A trusted partner for the journey can be the difference between spiraling and success. I’d love to be that partner.

Whether you or your child are facing mental health challenges, dealing with past hurts, or are just in the middle of a tough season, therapy with a professional counselor specializing in kids and teens is a powerful next step. Together we can find strategies, solutions, and strength to grow and embrace the road ahead.

Peaceful counseling office setting

Individual Therapy

Standard sessions are 50 minutes, and can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, monthly or as needed. Your first visit will be 60-90 minutes to give us extra time to get to know each other and lay a good foundation for our work together. If possible, I recommend committing to starting with six weekly sessions to build rapport, set goals, and see progress together.

Small Group Workshops

Growing alone is difficult, growing together lightens the load. I’ve experienced the power of peer-based small groups to build connection and spark lasting change. Watch for small group intensives and workshops focusing on topics such as emotional regulation, school social dynamics, bullying, and more. If you want to be alerted of future workshops, reach out via email, along with your topic(s) of interest.

"There aren't words for how grateful I am..."

“I wanted to say the biggest thank you for all that you have done and all that you have been for (my child) and myself. There really aren’t words for how grateful I am for the support.” // S.M., parent

    "Funny, supportive, and empathetic"

“When I first went to her I honestly got nervous. But Ms. McConnell is super nice and when you go and talk to her she’s just very funny, supportive, and empathetic. The first time I walked into her office was my first time seeing a counselor .... (but) when I went to see her she was inviting and funny. My fav thing about her was that her analogies are hilarious and yet still made sense.” // E.S., age 12

    "Quite phenomenal."

“Ellie is the most empathetic and skilled validator that I know.  Her presence calmed me as she helped ease my fear of horses through gentle guidance.  My confidence grew as I observed her techniques working with a variety of horses and people.  Ellie equipped me with awareness skills such as noticing both myself and the horse. I learned to pause, feel my feelings, honor myself and breathe as I haltered, brushed and led a special horse named Willard!  Anyone who knows how to coach both a fearful horse and a fearful person and then train us together is quite phenomenal!” // M.L., client

"A mental health professional who can be trusted."

“I was graced with the absolute pleasure of working alongside Eleanor for two years. Rarely have I witnessed a heart of compassion so tender for hurting people as hers. She truly is a compassionate professional. …Deciding to trust a mental health specialist can be a tough decision for people to make for themselves; more so, trusting a mental health specialist with your child is sometimes even harder. Eleanor is a mental health professional who can be trusted.” // Rick Greene, Dean of Students, James Irwin Middle School, Colorado Springs

    "Thank you for supporting me."

“Thank you for supporting me and making me feel better after what happened. I very much appreciate your comfort. I love how you make everyone feel good about themselves once they walk into your room. Thank you so much again for caring about me and my situations.” // A.G., 12
